Netflix debuted the first trailer for the second season of Shadow and Bone.
The trailer for the first flush, which was revealed during Tudum 2022, offers only the shortest nagging remarks for the show’s next season. Despite being only 40 seconds long, it packs a lot of material in no time, with numerous quick cuts that provide an enticing look at what’s going to happen in the series’ second installment.

There is little we can learn from the dynamic nature of this trailer. But there are a few things that are sure to get the interest of Netflix’s blockbuster fans.
First, we take a look at all the main characters that will join Season 2 of Shadow and Bone, including Patrick Gibson’s Nikolai Lantsov, Lewis Tan’s Tolya Yul-Battar, Anna Leong Brophy’s Tamar Kir-Battar, and Jack Wolfe’s Wylan Hendriks.
The footage also shows that the show’s next tour will provide plenty of fantasy-based action and drama. We see Mal Archie Renaux fleeing the law, Matthias Calahan Skogman is handcuffed and led out, and Wylan joins forces with the Slimes. We are also witnessing Nikolai telling Alina Starkov of Jessie Mei Li that he is a symbol, and Ben Barnes’s Darkling asking someone what they are willing to sacrifice to achieve their goals, amid the many exciting moments of the cutscene.
The release date with the peak of sneek has not been revealed, but Netflix has confirmed that Shadow and Bone season 2 will be with us sometime in 2023. Filming for the second season ended in early June, so post-production is well advanced. The first flush trailer doesn’t include any VFX or CGI elements, but will definitely be working on them as we speak (or rather write).
Earlier, we speculated that the next installment of Shadow and Bone would be coming in spring 2023 (this is fall 2023 for those in the southern hemisphere). Fingers crossed, we’re right, but glad to wait any longer if that means the Shadow and Bone 2 season is as good as this trailer shows.
